With a passion for Aviation and having worked in the Southampton Aviation Museum, which highlights the tradition of the Spitfire in Southampton, I have found myself drawn to painting often in this field, especially the Red Arrows with whom I have raised money for charity I also host talks about the subject of aviation so please have a look at my speaker page!
MARITIME
Southampton port has witnessed some truely remarkable ships in it's time and I have been privileged to paint some of them, for me it has been the Canberra which has certainly been my favourite. I have painted many craft that have sailed into the port.
PORTRAITS
I have been very successful with my portraits which have been of friends, family, clients and even the Queen Mother as well as Lady Diane when she was alive. I do enjoy those meetings with my subjects and finding what they are looking to achieve.
PETS
Many people have approached me to do pictures of pets who have passed on by using photos.
LANDSCAPE
This is an area that I am particularly strong at with anything from villages to homes as well as cathedrals. Country scenes are particularly fun to do as you get to see areas that you have never been to.
ROAD & RAIL
Often clients ask that I do sketches and drawings of cars that are special to them, to keep as reminders of cars that have been passed on through the family as well as vintage cars to keep on study walls.
CARTOONS
I have done a selection of cards with a cat theme which has allowed me to bring out the funny side of cats and the characters from a selection of quirky images which tell there own stories.
WILDLIFE
When I have been asked to paint and draw wildlife it presents challenges of its own as your subjects are continually on the go so it is a study of the charcter sketches as well as photos which help me to achieve what I do in this field.
OTHER
No subject is to challenging for me which has lead me to being asked to tacle things like Christmas cards with humor to tall mast sailing ships to Second World War, Lancaster Bombers. So feel free to ask about any subjects.
